Ever since the release of Pilot Panic, I knew there was a lot of room for improvement. The game was fun and relatively bug-free, but way too short. So, I decided to work on an update that would add a whole bunch of new levels, some kind of progression system, and enhance the visuals of the game.

The update includes a brand new set of levels that will take players on a longer adventure. They gradually become more challenging, and will require practice (and some reflexes) to get gold stars on each level.

I also wanted to give Pilot Panic its own dedicated page, so I designed a brand new logo and artwork to go with it. Funnily enough, creating the new artwork took me about as long as developing the game itself. I spent weeks on a first draft before scrapping that entirely and starting over.

Some of the new artwork was added to the game as the app icon, and as a splash screen, giving the game a fresh look and feel. Hopefully players who previously bought the game will appreciate the effort when they download the update.

Pilot Panic The thicker borders and vibrant colors give the game a more polished look.

I’m a bit annoyed with myself that it took this long to release the update, the game was released on Android in late 2025, and it’s now June 2026. However, I wanted to make sure the update was polished and added enough content to the game.

The update has also been stuck in Apple’s review process for over a month, since I submitted the first build early May. I had to go back and forth with Apple a few times to get it approved, which was a bit frustrating, citing the game as “too similar to Super Mario World”. I can only take it as a compliment, I guess. :)

Grab the update now from its brand new page, and please get in touch if you have any feedback or suggestions.
